The darkness that surrounds me is empty,
so lifeless,
so vacant.
The voice that used to call to me is gone,
but I am still straining to hear it.
I am wandering,
aimless,
guideless,
and confused.
Nothing but misty dark shadows all around me.


In my mind,
thoughts and images disappear into the mist,
without really taking shape and form.
I am reaching out into the blackness,
and finding nothing tangible.
It's getting colder,
and so am I.


Soon,
I will be as empty,
indifferent,
and void,
as the darkness around me.
Drained of joy,
energy,
trust,
faith,
love,
everything that made me who I was.


The light I once was, is gone.
Were did my integrity,
virtue,
and morals go?
How did I become so twisted?
This place will be the death of me.
